Can a scientific lecture on crystallization and a choreography that blends contemporary dance and flamenco share the same stage at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre? The answer is yes. They will do so today at 7:00 PM, led by Sevillian geologist Juan Manuel Garcia-Ruiz, an Ikerbasque professor at the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC); flamenco dancer Vanesa Aibar from Jaén, winner of the 2023 Max Award for Best Dance Performance for La Reina del Metal; and singer-guitarist María Marín from Utrera.
The result of this meeting of talents from such diverse fields is The Crystallization of Dance, a performance its creators encourage audiences to attend with an open mind: “It’s not heavy at all — it’s a journey that’s easy to follow, and by the end, people almost always say it felt too short.”
