Life favors curved shapes. Vertices, planes and edges are reserved for crystals. This is why, for decades, life has been associated with rounded forms. However, the discovery of biomorphs (minerals resembling shells, bones or teeth) challenged this paradigm. Morphology alone is no longer a reliable criterion for detecting primitive life on Earth or other worlds. In collaboration with Bernardo Herradón, we interviewed their discoverer, Prof. Juan Manuel Garcia-Ruiz.
