Prof. Garcia-Ruiz to Serve on the Jury of FICAB’s 25th Edition

Prof. Juan Manuel García Ruiz, Ikerbasque Research Professor at the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC), has been invited to serve as a member of the official jury at the 25th edition of FICAB – International Archaeological Film Festival of the Bidasoa.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of FICAB, a festival dedicated to connecting archaeology, history, and audiovisual communication. The event brings together filmmakers, researchers, cultural institutions, and audiences, and also develops outreach activities throughout the year through FICAB Itinerante.

The 2025 jury is composed of:

• Jesús Cimarro (Producer at Pentación and Director of the Mérida International Classical Theatre Festival)

• Giulia Pruneti (Communications lead and co-organizer of Firenze Archeofilm)

• Juan Manuel García Ruiz (Ikerbasque Research Professor at DIPC, specializing in crystallogenesis and the origin of life)

• Ana Belén Marín Arroyo (Researcher and archaeologist specializing in the study and interpretation of human remains)

• Mertxe Urteaga (Archaeologist, archaeology specialist at the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, and founder of the Oiasso Museum)

Several awards will be presented in this edition, including the Special Jury Prize, Audience Award, EITB Gender Perspective Award, Educational Section Award, and Arkeolan Award.
