Juan Manuel Garcia-Ruiz: «La geoda de Pulpí es la más bonita y grande del mundo»
Juan Manuel Garcia-Ruiz is a Spanish geologist whose discoveries are redefining our understanding of the origin of life. From his early days in Seville to becoming one of the world’s most renowned crystallographers, his innate curiosity led him to discover biomorphs — curious biomimetic inorganic substances that transformed the field of crystallography. Juanma (as he likes to be called) has just received €10 million in European funding through the Synergy program to carry out his most ambitious project yet: PROTOS, through which he aims to answer one of humanity’s oldest questions: Why are we here?
